Down on the Bowery

New York…Yigal Azrouël

Yigal Azrouël’s F/W 09 collection was the quintessential worn-down, lived-in collection for men. With no specific inspiration given, one can only assume his chosen man of the season likes the dirt and grit of such notorious neighborhoods as New York’s Lower East Side and its “yellow brick road,” the Bowery. The homemade, organic feel of the season continued with his Fair Isle long johns dwarfed by voluminous coats with sherpa linings. A similarly patterned capelet created that common cocoon seen so frequently as of late. The beautiful lace-up boots were dusty and dirty, the perfect companions to such stratified looks. It was hard core mood meet soft fabrics and silhouettes.

  • The fair isles legging looks great. I love the matching wind breaking scarf pulled all the way down for a layered look.
