The Graphics team is loving the enchanting self-camouflaged portraits by Cecilia Paredes, which seem to be all over the web at the moment.
The Peruvian artist mixes make-up, paint, and patterned backdrops to create these amazing portraits. Cecilia Paredes was born in Lima, and currently lives and works between San Jose, Costa Rica and Philadelphia.
At first glance it seems as though these artworks are purely textile visuals, but as you study further you see that the artist has deliberately left areas of her body pattern-free. The more you view the artworks, the more clever the use of pattern and enchanting chameleon effects hits you. Inspiring work, I’m sure you’ll agree.
