PARIS…John Galliano presented a surprisingly commercial Dior collection for S/S 09, reaching for a younger audience while also reviving some of his ’80s era hits. The abbreviated hemlines, body conscious fits and corseted waists all pointed to previous decades, while capricious dot prints and ruffled layers kept the looks in juniors territory. Key items include those aggressive belts, a shiny grey motorcycle jacket and a very wearable, multi-colored chiffon dress. Look to the dresses of Dior this season for directional juniors inspiration, as well as reliable pattern cues.
