DRAMATIC BODY MAPPING
London: Australia’s Dion Lee crushed fashion fans in Sydney last season by moving his operation to show in London, but a broader audience for this young talent is richly deserved. For S/S 13 Lee continued a few of the techniques he has made his signatures, from sharp pleat details to ergonomic body mapped colorblocking, while escalating the drama with folded leather peplum details and molded filigree collars. However it wasn’t all avant-garde, and the collection included many savvy and wearable separates with an athletic influence, such as a series of all-white looks in a spongy leather. Fantastically luxurious and artistically executed, Dion Lee continues to expand his reach and build toward truly global recognition.—Nina Stotler
