Diane von Furstenberg sent hippie chicks on a glamorous safari this season, with golden flowers buried in their wildly crimped hair. Embellished macramé shifts in sunny tones and black were intricately constructed and laden with beads. These new flower children are chic. It wouldn’t be a Diane von Furstenberg show without loads of pretty dresses — this season her best came in contrasting animal prints, florals and a photo-print of scattered jewelry. Stacked neon bangles begged for attention and provided an unnecessary element of distraction in a show that was already packed with references, but strong pieces like a metallic leather-coin embellished shift brought the eye back where it belonged.
