Designers are stepping up their game when it comes to advertising their F/W collections; the most buzzed-about new campaigns are innovative in their presentation or content. Alexander Wang shot a campaign video featuring model Raquel Zimmerman and projected it onto the sides of buildings all over New York last week. Meanwhile, on Tuesday Miu Miu screened the second installment of “The Women’s Tales” film series for an A-list audience that included current campaign star, 14-year-old Hailee Steinfeld. Each film is directed by a hip indie filmmaker and showcases the line’s wears; first was Zoe Cassavetes’ “The Powder Room,” and Lucretia Martel’s “Muta” is the latest. Balenciaga’s campaign unveiling marked the launch of the brand’s new website, where visitors can view images and a video of F/W 11 offerings in high resolution. Big-name people and a theatrical theme generated the buzz surrounding leaked Chanel F/W ads. Styled by former French Vogue Editor in Chief Carine Roitfeld, the images depict Freja Beha modeling a cat getup.
