Denim Magazine Covers

We recently presented our new Editorials feature with a round-up of the top denim editorials to hit worldwide magazines for the season. But we also wanted to shed some light on the denim that has reached front covers. With a wide variety of glossies now featuring indigo on their covers, it cements the denim movement that we have seen in the editorials and confirms it as a must-have item for the season.

In addition to the major magazines like Bazaar, Elle, and Vogue that get a lot of well-deserved attention on the newsstand, we wanted to introduce some of the smaller glossies that are just as—if not more—inspiring. From NYLON Japan to Dazed & Confused Korea, there’s a whole world of gorgeous editorial coverage going on that we won’t necessarily see on U.K. or U.S. newsstands. The Japanese magazine SENSE launched for April 2011 with a Special Denim issue, featuring model-of-the-moment Lyle Lodwick in Levi’s, Nonnative, and Gucci. Rap music’s freshest darling, Wiz Khalifa is featured on the front of the latest Complex Mag. Wiz is sporting a smoky looking G-Star Denim Midnight Corner Shirt in the pics taken alongside fellow Pittsburgh native, comedian Danny McBride.

We know we’re not alone when we over-spend on an international subscription or scoop up seasons worth of discounted magazines from around the world, and there is nothing better than catching denim on magazine covers. To drive the point home, we rounded up some of our favorite denim-clad magazines from East to West, North to South for you.
