Acne, the Swedish brand known as a pioneer of the now-ubiquitous skinny jean, has expanded far beyond apparel – first into the world of print with its magazine Acne Paper, launched five years ago, and now with home furnishings. Although it may seem like a stretch for the hipster line, it’s actually more of a return to form, as founder Jonny Johansson designed furniture before he started Acne. While the furniture line stays true to the company’s roots in denim through some of its pieces – a 1920s style couch is made from pastel pink denim – others, like a fold-out escritoire, are based on clean lines and utilitarian designs. We can hardly wait to see what the forward-thinking brand will come up with next.
