Jeans, A Faded Blue Planet is an upcoming documentary film by Thierry Aguila that explores the history, economics, culture, industry and psychology of jeans. The film showcases jeans manufacturing in various countries, denim collectors and artisan jean designers.
Personalities who feature in the hour-long documentary include fashion designers Jean-Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs; philosopher Michel Serres, R. John Anderson the CEO of the corporate giant Levi Strauss; and various artists and collectors. Each applies his own skills and knowledge to the subject of this iconic piece of clothing. Lynn Downey, Levi’s historian and archivist, is also interviewed.
The film is to be released by Arte in September.
