Milan: Daniela Gregis has a clear sense of her own aesthetic and is rarely subject to the whims of fashion. While last season saw her rustic vagabond develop a more sophisticated polish, this season, she reverted back to her old ways with lovingly rumpled layers, crafty knits and grunge-y accessories. The forgotten dishrags in pockets, static-cling mittens and portable knitting projects spotted in various ensembles can be seen as charming quirks, but for Gregis, it is all about convenience. These are well-traveled threads that also travel well, that can easily go from farmer’s market to gallery hop; looks so unique yet unassuming that they unwittingly make fashion statements.
