Damir Doma

Paris: True to Stylesight’s Moda Monastic trend, Damir Doma’s vagabond ascetic developed a sensual, more cosmopolitan sensibility for spring. The humble, cocooning layers that define Doma’s work were shaped into more defined and skin-baring silhouettes. Miniskirts and cropped tops were a surprising departure for the designer, adding a contemporary and a provocative counterbalance to his roomy pants and jackets. Even the more rustic floor-sweeping tunics and monk-like wrapped pants received a sophisticated sheen with richly textured silks, while tailored garments, like blazer vests and boxy jackets, retained his clean, relaxed aesthetic with collar- and closure-less design. Doma’s usual palette of beige-to-grey neutrals looked more on-trend this season than ever, as did the occasional burst of marigold yellow – a positive note that reflected an overall change for the better.
