London: For fall, Daks crossed 60s schoolgirl with masculine utilitarian looks. Pointelle sweaters and pleated plaid skirts were styled with rugged outerwear, such as a waxed cotton coat or an anorak with cargo pockets. Knitwear, much of which was contributed by Royal Academy of Art 2009 competition winner Emma Bradbury, had a strong presence. In addition to an assorted array of sweaters, detached knit hoods looked both sweet and purposeful. Ensuring that Daks’ heritage be felt throughout, traditional plaids and checks were used copiously.
