NEW YORK…Prize for “most discussed” so far at New York Fashion Week goes to the shoes at Rodarte. Designed by Christian Louboutin, this ballet shoe/dominatrix hybrid perfectly complimented the part-Swan Lake, part-Kabukai theme running through the collection from Kate and Laura Mulleavy. The clothes were not too shabby either, (although they were somewhat ragged!), a mash-up of shredded knits, distressed tulle ballet frocks, tie-dyed dresses and coats and ripped up cob-webby tights thrilled the audience and then there were those shoes…patent leather, five inch heels, multi-strapped, embellished with grommets and spikes given the Louboutin signature red sole.
