New York: Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs can always be relied upon to offer sexy, skin baring looks. After all, the designers were among the first to jump on the cutout craze several seasons ago. For Pre-Fall, they took seductive to the next level, sending out curve-hugging pieces with attached harnesses and plenty of the aforementioned cutouts showing swaths of skin. It seems the über-successful Fifty Shades books may have had an influence here. A handful of looks in pale tones lightened up the nearly all-black collection. A blush-colored pantsuit showed off the pair’s tailoring skills and offered a reprieve from all the dark drama. A more modest matched set and sheath featured an abstract digital floral print that was beautifully eerie, allowing them to fit in with the edgier items. Slick leathers and revealing mesh were obvious fabric choices, while matte silk crepe demonstrated the designers’ talent for fit. Though there was somewhat of a lack of daytime options, these seductive looks are sure to appeal to the label’s young and sexy clients, as well as Fifty Shades fans.–Joanna Manganaro
