Curve Expo NY Preview

Innovative Irish import Embrace is set to debut at Curve

The last major trade show of the season for intimates and swimwear, Curve Expo, kicks off tomorrow in New York City. The East Coast edition of Curve offers a little something different from the European trade shows and even its counterpart in Las Vegas. For three days, the Jacob Javits Center becomes the meeting spot for a unique assembly of luxurious European establishments, sexy South American labels, cutting-edge local talent and some of the most marketable intimate apparel brands in the world. Here are the labels to look out for this season:

The European Invasion: Lejaby (licensee for Nina Ricci and Christian Lacroix) / Huit / Embrace / Andres Sarda / Fräulein Annie / Marie Jo (collaboration with Veronique Branquinho)

The South Americans: Thais Gusmão (Brazil’s answer to Chantal Thomass makes its international debut) / RICA / Stola / Touché / Amulette / Malha

The Locals: The Lake & Stars (the influential Contemporary label makes its trade show debut) / Ari Dein / Only Hearts / Lola Haze / Zinke / Cala Ossidiana / Jenna Leigh / Samantha Chang

The Heavy Hitters: Elle Macpherson / Stella McCartney / DKNY / Cosabella / Hanro
