The biggest (and grandest!!) Hoxton Hotel yet opened its doors in the 2nd arrondissement in Paris last month in time for fashion week. Set in an 18th Century hotel particulier, the Hoxton group’s second European outpost is home to a modern French brasserie, an intimate bar and several comfortable courtyard and lobby areas to kick back and relax in.
Here’s what we LOVED about our stay:
The Jacques Bar
Accessed via an original 18th century spiral staircase in the oldest part of the building, this intimate bar has a secret, speakeasy feel and is a must-visit for your Hoxton Paris experience! Inspired by Jacques Majorelle and Marrakech’s Majorelle Garden, the bar is lined with floral wallpaper and kitted out with palms and tasseled lamps for an overall cosy yet exotic vibe.
Historic meets contemporary design
Sharing the title of Monument Historique with the likes of the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, the 18th century building is truly stunning and has been carefully restored to maintain many of its original features. In true Hoxton style, the rooms juxtapose contemporary feature walls and laminates with reclaimed oak chevron flooring and paneling and each have a mini fridge stocked with free water and milk. I really enjoyed the strong design details from vintage style phones to Instagram-worthy lamps, perfect interiors inspo.
Don’t forget to hang your breakfast bag out before you go to bed so you can enjoy juice, granola yogurt and a banana delivered to your door each morning!
The Hoxton is well known for its sense of locality and city influenced design, and the Paris outpost is no different with this sensibility even feeding into the drinks offer, which has been carefully curated by local award winning cocktail experts Quixotic.
