Converse has teamed up again with respected streetwear brand, Undefeated for the Born Not Made collection of footwear, apparel, and accessories to be sold exclusively at select Foot Locker locations on March 29th. The Active Team was more than happy to swing by the launch featuring a gallery exhibit by New York City street photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis, along with a panel discusson involving Converse designer Matt Sleep and UNDFTD Co-founder James Bond, including the artist herself and her subject, Yago Marovia.
The Converse Pro Leather, the style made popular by the Julius “Dr. J” Erving, will be available in black and grey nylon uppers with a bright orange pop to the lining (top left, bottom right). The Star Player continues to be released since the original 1970’s debut, in a EV Hi (top left) and Ox (bottom right) style. The “UND” logo accents the Star Chevron on both throwback basketball styles, celebrating the collaborative effort from both brands in a military-inspired color palette.
The event was attended by a healthy spread of street style influencers sporting the ubiquitous streetwear-adopted camouflage, 90’s throwback items like snapback caps and bold ethnic-inspired prints, along with some remixed classics and a good dose of Converse kicks.
Stylesight hopes to see streetwear and global companies continue to collaborate, generating an informed and inspired discussion within the industry. The Born Not Made Collection will be available at select stores on March 29th or online at Footlocker. -Calvy Click
