New York: Carlos Campos was inspired by Spanish graphic artist Rafafans, particularly his use of mediums of collage and photomontage that hold a sense of subtle surrealism. This informed Campos’ use of texture and colour this season through patchwork elements, constructed panels, and the use of shapes, contours and topography to create texture and op-art effects. These techniques refreshed popular pieces and tailored looks. Bomber jackets featured contrast silhouette motifs done through paneled materials or subtly contrasted colours. Tailoring was contemporary in dropped rise trouser silhouettes that were even included in plaid tuxedos, which created a smart casual look for the contemporary man. Outerwear was also a focal point with texture blocking on hybrid coats and pointed cut hems on tailored topcoats. – Matt Feniger
