Contemporary 50s Bad Boys at Richard Chai

New York: Richard Chai updated last spring/summer’s Truck Stop theme with fluid fabrics, bright colours, and broken stripe patterns. The 50s bad boy was seen through items like sleeveless pop-over shirts and styling choices like camp shirts with rolled-up sleeves left unbuttoned to reveal slouched tank tops. The footwear, a hiker boot hi-top hybrid, added a contemporary urban feel. The dark brooding palette was punctuated by acid yellow and electric blue to liven the collection. –Matt Feniger
