Consumer: Sweet Shoppe by The Future Laboratory

The Future Laboratory and retail design agency Campaign have created Sweet Shoppe – a sensorial journey of personal discovery and a glimpse into the future of retail.

At TFL’s base on Elder Street, East London, visitors to the Shoppe are presented with an ostensibly innocent welcoming drink, a box full of random objects, all followed by a pill to then swallow.

Using additional online, sourced profile information, uniformed staff then hand-over a personalized bag of sweets (from 27 combinations), based on the aforementioned object selections, profile information and interactions within the space.  Three cards will then breakdown your consumer personality type.

This unique venture – part of London Design Festival, this week – aims to show retailers and consumers the ways in which online and offline retail can function together, offering consumers a more tailored and personal shopping experience.
