Coloro has partnered with WGSN for the next 5 weeks to bring the launch of S/S 2020 key colours. This week it’s all about the modernist Neo Mint.
Part of the ongoing uptrend in pop pastels, Neo Mint is a natural evolution from the infamous Millennial Pink and Gen Z Yellow we’ve seen sweeping the industry. A purist color, maintaining its crisp appearance, Neo Mint light tone which can be used as a contemporary alternative to grey.
An optimistic hue that embodies a sense of calm which is soothing in this current stressful geopolitical climate. It encapsulates a forward-thinking mood that aligns science and technology with nature.
WGSN’s Colour Director Jane Boddy shares that, ‘For years, we’ve been imagining life in 2020, and now the world of technology and science are turning these dreams into reality.’ For example, Tokyo 2020 is where the first AI Olympic games will take place, the tallest building in the world, Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Tower will be completed and LA and Dallas could see the introduction of Uber’s ‘flying taxis’.
A glowing shade which is both unfamiliar and refreshing, it will work best across contemporary womenswear and menswear styles, and has already featured in the Stone Island menswear collections and in the recent Prada womenswear collection. Neo Mint is set to translate easily the interior, activewear and footwear markets.
Stay tuned, for the next S/S 2020 key colour.
