Today Medellín, Colombia can be definitely described as a place of transformation, evolution and quite possibly the next most innovative metropolis. In just two decades this beautiful city has managed to achieve major strides of growth in more ways than one. Medellín is already ranking high as one of the hottest places with a trend-setting restaurant scene (foodies rejoice), growing support for its independent designers on various categories, cultural festivals such as the amazing Flower Festival—and not to mention breath-taking street art.

In fact, the artistic expression of Medellín is so strong that the local authorities declared urban art a cultural landmark in Medellín according to Palenque tours of Colombia.

WGSN got the opportunity to visit Medellín recently and here we highlight some of our most favourite colourful graffiti, murals, art masterpieces in the streets.

Barrio Buenos Aires: The newest light rail transit system in Medellín will take you all the way up to Barrio Buenos Aires, where you can walk your way down the street and immerse yourself in beautiful graffiti art on buildings, businesses and murals.
