The accessories range from Kurt Geiger continues to evolve and grow for the Spring/ Summer 12 season, and yesterday we were invited to the press launch in London to see the new collections.
Accompanying the new footwear assortments the KG Kurt Geiger Accessories, Candy, jewelry and eyewear collections take inspiration from retro California and taking styling inspiration from strong glamourous muses Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor.
Creative Director, Rebecca Farrar-Hockley described the collection as: “a kaleidoscope of Dolly Mixture shades whilst accents of scarlet and neon give pace to pretty pastels. Soft but not always sweet, the collection has a refined edgy undertone.”
Color is a key element to this season’s offering with the aforementioned pastels acting as a stand-out direction, channeling sugary sweet vintage themes.
The brand has expanded it’s range of jewelry, which is heavily influenced by the private collection of Elizabeth Taylor, and features textural combinations of faceted glass crystals, textured metals and natural grosgrain. Architectural shapes and flashes of saturated bright colors set this collection apart and appeal to the fashion forward consumer.
The use of snake cut Italian leathers and minimal styling ensure the new ‘Humbug’ bags work with the strong feminine shoes. Statement chain wristlet clutches, cross body mini bags and slouchy shoppers are key items, emphasizing the importance of versatile function and bold aesthetics.
A new selection of technology accessories and small leather goods round out the new season’s deliveries answering the increased demand for feminine and functional pouches, sleeves and wallets. Candy colored embossed snake leather and sports luxe neon Perspex confirm the trend-led message behind these items.
