Collecting Coins

Milan…Pollini

Starting off as an Italian footwear brand, the design house has been re-vamped by Jonathan Saunders. Elements from his New York collection were transferred over to this show with high shine surfaces seen on fabrics along with medallions and closures metallics appeared in gold and silver. A belted dress, bearing a gold coin belt, tied at the neck and was layered over a pleated skirt with flounces in ruched, sheer chiffonWide shouldered blazers were adorned with buttons at the front and along the leg-o-mutton sleeves. Poet shapes on fur-embellished jackets were worn with swash buckling boots reminiscent of looks from the original footwear shapes. Coifed up-dos on teased hair paired well with a rebellious attitude.

Has an essence of Military inspiration. I am very much liking the strong shoulders. The leg o mutton is usually not a pleasing sleeve, but here it seems to have a cool and modern effect.
