Coachella is a key festival in the global circuit, and the street style blogs have been full of the best summer looks and the most stylish celebs as of late. Stylesight’s reports are going live right now and although the festival is not traditionally renowned for its denim, there were certainly some great directional looks. The cut-off denim vest is an essential unisex item this summer, with grunge and rock ‘n’ roll styling playing a key role. Oversized and boxy 80s looks made a bold statement on guys and vests were customized with rock patches, badges and music memorabilia, giving the classic cut-off some serious rock attitude.
All-in-ones and coveralls remain strong this summer for both girls and more daring guys. Classic workwear details, bib-and-brace fastenings and utility pockets are prominent, and thrifted finds are either 90s and playful or classic archival worker.
The girls short is showing no sign of giving up its title of essential girls’ festival item. This year’s Coachella girls updated the look with 80s acid washes, repetitive slashing and looser hems. This silhouette, however, is still very firmly sticking to a high waist.
