Simone Rocha’s S/S 12 collection was light and ethereal, playing off lace textures and transparent fabrics, while her largely black and white palette was punctuated with delicate, barely-there hints of racing red, peach, and Kelly green, an aesthetic that was boldly amplified by her footwear. Rocha showed a variety of heeled oxfords that boasted a traditional leather sole, underplayed by transparent Lucite heel in the shape of a slim wedge. While Rocha’s take on white bucks was impressive, it was her translucent oxfords in kelly green and racing red that were particularly intriguing. For a designer only three years removed from university, Rocha is pushing boundaries and attracting much deserved attention. –Andrew Luecke
