Clements Ribiero

London: Print has long-factored centrally in the work of London-based husband and wife duo Suzanne Clements and Inacio Ribeiro. For F/W 2012 they artfully re-embroidered Mexican peasant-blouse prints in a deft marriage of screenprinting and handcraft, creating pieces that at once felt precise in execution and individually unique. In contrast, tartan and leather pieces felt ultra-polished, and pop colors like hot pink and poppy jolted the senses. Mid-show, the palette was cleansed by chalk-tones, before concluding in a graphic black-and-white separates finale. —Kibwe Chase-Marshall
