Citizen Hip: Nadine Ferber Abramyck Curates New York

Nadine Ferber Abramyck is the chic proprietor of Mick Margo (a women’s clothing and accessories boutique as well as showroom) and tenoverten (a brilliant Tribeca-based nail salon), all located in downtown Manhattan. When she’s not busy keeping shop, she is constantly on the lookout for new designers to add to her current roster of collections, scouring the markets of New York, Paris and beyond. Whether it’s where to find the most unique gift or the freshest juices, this tastemaking New Yorker shares her local favorites, from the hidden to the historic.

De Vera – SHOP
1 Crosby Street 10013 / +1 212 625 0838
Neighborhood: SoHo
This is my favorite place to pick up a unique gift for all occasions. The store is a treasure trove of obscure objects and rare antique jewelry that will suit any New Yorker’s refined taste.

28th Street Flower Market – SHOP
131-133 West 28th Street 10001
Neighborhood: Chelsea
This is a special place to go before the sun rises on New York. My favorite shop on flower row is bustling Associated Cut Flower Co., when you walk in the doors you feel the sense that you have been let in on an industry secret as florists from all over come here first thing to stock their shops throughout the city. They close by noon so you must go early.

Liquiteria – EAT & DRINK
170 Second Avenue 10003 / +1 212 358 0300
Neighborhood: East Village
This spot in the East Village has the best fresh pressed juices in the city. I wasn’t much of a juice gal until an editor asked me to meet her here one day instead of the local coffee place and I was blown away by the freshness of the produce and variety of juices.

Smith & Mills – EAT & DRINK
71 North Moore Street 10013 / +1 212 226 2515
Neighborhood: Tribeca
This hidden gem of a restaurant has only 25 seats, the perfect vodka gimlet and most delicious Swedish meatballs I’ve ever eaten.

Radio City Music Hall – SEE
1260 Avenue of the Americas 10020 / +1 212 247 4777
Neighborhood: Midtown
Radio City screams historic New York to me. I’ve seen many shows in this venue and the building is magnificent, even the bathroom décor transports you to another time. Whether you are seeing Interpol or Elvis Costello, the experience is magical.
