New York: Christopher Kane raided his own archives for Cruise/Resort, choosing to revisit some of his most successful pieces. He brought back the knife-pleated dresses layered with flat panels of self-fabric. The flat slides from last year returned, as well. Kane also created an updated version of the t-shirt that became such a hit last year. This one featured a square placed graphic of blurred florals. Speaking of florals, Kane presented three versions of them for his prints this season. One was a vintage-inspired realistic motif, another was painterly, and the third featured large colored circles and a child-like, hand-painted look. Longer hemlines for dresses looked new, and their looser silhouette was a nice counterbalance to the precise knife-pleated dresses and the edgy leather looks. –Joanna Manganaro
