New York: Prisms inspired the vibrant rainbows in Christopher Kane’s Resort collection. The designer is no stranger to bright colors (see his S/S 11 collection), but the current season’s tones were more ebullient than ever, appearing in prints for dresses and tops and knitted into intarsia sweaters. Silver and mauve lamé pieces lent additional brightness and shine, while sequined lace items again recalled Kane’s S/S 11 offering, and the intricately tooled leather lace garments he showed then. Design details (high-low hemlines and accordion pleats) and silhouettes (precise A-lines and boxy shapes) were on-trend, making the daring prints and sparkly materials more approachable. —Joanna Manganaro
