WHAT’S OLD-TIME IS NEW AGAIN
New York: Chris Benz’ signature playful proportions, tailored constructions and uninhibited color palettes all returned this season, but the looks in his F/W 11 collection felt gentler and less extroverted than usual. Benz was influenced by the eclectic culture of Savannah, Georgia (where he recently joined the mentorship program at Savannah College of Art and Design). While one could easily picture the dreamy floral prints, softly draped chiffon maxi-gowns and lace collars on genteel southern belles, daringly ultra-wide leg trousers and swaggering slouch hats reflected the college town’s youthful energy.
