LONDON…Chloë Sevigny’s line for Opening Ceremony has historically sold out of the store’s two locations, as juniors clamor for spot-on interpretations of her favorite vintage pieces, reworked for today’s customer. For fall, the line showed at the Double Club in London, modeled by some of the actress’ best friends, including Lissy Trullie and Lou Doillon. Standout items included slouchy cardigans and loose fit, menswear style coats, bustier tops and even high-waisted leather shorts worn by Sevigny herself. Full blown grunge elements like olive green thermal underwear style pants and heeled combat boots brought a new toughness to the collection, in contrast to the more girlish florals which dominated spring. Consider this collection a confirmation of the commercial reemergence of grunge for juniors this fall.
