Reinventing the 20th century exquisite corpse drawing game for the Internet age, 15 Folds invites a handful of artists to create and post an animated gif in response to the artist before them.

15 Folds is the brainchild of illustrator Margot Bowman, filmmaker Sean Frank, and Jolyon Varley of digital studio Neverbland. The website uses the concept of picture and word association and utilizes a custom gif generator to post an animated image instead of a still image.

At the beginning of each month, the 15 Folds team begins a new thread by posting a themed gif, which for November was aptly titled Superstition. Fourteen selected contributors then take turns throughout the month and post an original animation in response to the last post, akin to a game of Chinese Whispers.

While 15 Folds has a host of wonderful creatives lined up for the project, visitors can participate by uploading their own inspired animations in response to their favorite works on the site. A must for fans of gif art. – Samantha Fox
