It is always interesting to follow the branching out of a brand concept. Sweden’s cult youth brand Cheap Monday specializes in effortlessly cool clothing and great jeans at reasonable prices, and their new collection of glasses are no exception. They created another low price point product with a very creative campaign. In keeping with the Cheap Monday philosophy, the collection offers the latest eyewear fashion trends for young people, at a mere $35. The frames are heavily inspired by retro and vintage glasses, and named after cult novels such as ‘The Darkness That Comes Before”, “The Color Out of Space” and “Blindness”. The launch was supported by a 3D marketing campaign under the theme – OPEN YOUR THIRD EYE. 3D glasses can be found in selected optical stores and can be used to view the website www.cheapmonday.com/clairvoyant in 3D and use a microsite where users can try two of their latest models using “augmented reality”. A new version of the Cheap Monday skull logo – featuring a ‘third eye’ – has been created for Clairvoyant, and is a standard feature on the temple of each frame. Looking good!
