Charlotte Ronson

Charlotte Ronson S/S 2013

New York: Charlotte Ronson told journalists that she looked to the ocean for inspiration for her spring collection. The show opened with a series of cream mesh looks that called to mind fishnets, and later Ronson introduced a dreamy photo print of a beach. But her seaside escape ended there. The remaining looks seemed incongruous, having little or nothing to do with her purported inspiration. There were tweed skirt suits, sexy dresses made from sheer black Swiss dot, girly floral frocks, and futuristic clear plastic blouson jackets. While her young followers will surely find plenty of pieces to covet, Ronson would do well to tighten her focus for her next outing. –Joanna Manganaro
