New York: Chadwick Bell has been on the radar since his S/S 09 debut at New York Fashion Week, and his low-key chic looks have garnered him a loyal following. This season, an outdoorsy feeling permeated his collection, with rustic suedes and sturdy leathers, as well as tones that evoked nature – muddy brown and grass green. Pops of white for billowy button-up shirts lightened the mood. Closures were a focal point, as trails of buttons ran down the sides or fronts of skirts and dresses, or along the edges of exaggerated dolman sleeves, allowing the wearer to change their shape. A snow leopard print added a touch of exotic glamour to the show, while straight-leg trousers, slim blazers and wrap skirts looked effortless yet sophisticated.
