Paris: In the same way Phoebe Philo introduced a new look with her exuberant head to toe florals during the Pre-Spring collections, she breaks ground again this week with a fresh take on proportion and fit. Combining the blown-up proportions of 90s streetwear with Céline’s signature luxury, Philo created soft leather track pants, colorblocked cashmere turtlenecks and matched set pinstripes so voluminous they looked like a jogging suit. It wasn’t all sporty comfort though, as options abounded for the more traditional Céline fan as well, from crisp white blouses draped in chiffon panels to a thick fur overcoat topped with a felt dickie. Either way, Philo’s supersized modernism will lead a shift in design, a trend fashion has come to expect.—Nina Stotler
