Celeb Style Doubletake: Tribeca Film Festival

Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of those tiny people with a gift for looking amazing, even with a weird nose. In this safe all-black ensemble, she looks absolutely radiant. But in this tan and orange skirt and blouse combo she looks radiant AND classy, despite Freddie Prinze Jr.’s career-killing presence, ill-fitting/boring suit and weirdly shaped head.

Lately, Grindhouse star Rosario Dawson has been spotted in a variety of short strapless dresses, so it’s nice to see her in something (anything!) else. While I’m not in love with the pointy shoes, the earrings or the hemline, the neckline of this dress is just so interesting and the color so lovely, I’m willing to get over it. Thanks to Rosario Dawson’s stylist for busting out something fresh (finally).

Adrian Grenier, are you serious? Did you end up sleeping at a friend’s house one night after a wild after-party and figured you’d wear the same (ugly) sneakers and borrow some clothes and no one would notice? Seriously? You knew you were going to be photographed, right? This is why people have entourages, to tell them NOT to do stuff like this. I guess a case could be made for Mr. Grenier being hot enough to wear whatever he wants, and a part of me respects his complete lack of styling, but seriously? Sneakers?

Is this even the same person? Edie Falco’s outfit is so ugly it’s actually offensive. That unflattering synthetic material makes my skin crawl just looking at it and I can’t even imagine touching it without visibly shuddering. She looks like a dental hygienist from a small Mid-western town on her way to a church-sponsored Casino Night. Don’t even get me started on those shoes. But look! She cleans up well enough!

I’m not saying that Kerry Washington doesn’t look incredibly beautiful and elegant in this Grecian floor length number, but it’s really a bit much for the Tribeca Film Festival. On the other side of the fashion spectrum, this mod dress is the perfect look for the sometimes over-dressed Washington, casual yet polished. With the same geometric cutouts, those shoes are obviously this dress’ soul mates. I’m so happy they found each other!
