Footwear and runway designer collaborations have become the norm over the last couple of years, bringing a fresh new perspective to footwear selections. Last season the catwalk was a battle ground for Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin to decide who had the highest runway collaborations, with Mr. Blahnik coming in first place with 18 collaborations vs. Louboutin’s 13.
NYFW has not yet concluded and it’s still early to begin tallying the scores, but the reigning champs have some competition before the battle is over.
Casadei is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to red carpet styles, and now they have added runway to their list of conquers. The result of their collaboration resulted in two incredible styles available in four colors, that stayed true to the aesthetic of both brands. Models strutted down the Prabal Gurung‘s runway wearing a completely re-worked version of Casadei’s key construction, the Blade wedge, all the while complementing the overall look of the collection.
No announcements have been made regarding any other collaborations, but I think we’re all crossing our fingers for a surprise over the next couple of weeks. -Jenn Tello
