Paris: Driving one of the most successful brand revivals of the past few years, designer Guillaume Henry is continuing on his white hot streak, delivering a freshly innovative yet brand-right Fall collection. The French gamine factor was in full effect but the newness Henry brought to the table this season was rooted in religious references. Muddied stained glass shades of bottle green, amber and ruby red set a brooding tone for cute structured frocks, gussied up with gothic-inspired graphic cutouts, winter paisleys and fur collars. From the ultra-basic solid knits to the voluminous pinafore dresses, Carven offered another round of clothes that are functional enough for the real world combined with the right amount of fantasy the fashion community has come to expect from French fashion. —Shannon Davenport
