In a new three-part web series, Carmelo Anthony talks about what it’s like to play for the city he grew up in. Heralding from Red Hook Brooklyn, Melo describes what it’s like to grow up in New York, and in turn make it to play for its NBA team. In Episode 1 the video takes us to Red Hook to talk with some of the most influential people from his childhood and what it means to grow up in that neighborhood, in that city.

“Playing in the city is unmatched as a native New Yorker from Red Hook, Brooklyn. I play not just for the orange and blue, but the people of NY and the city that made me.”

Melo aslo celebrated the release of his newest signature model, the M9 on January 9th, 2013. The newest shoe in his line, the M9 comes in six colorways and blends the classic aesthetic that Brand Jordan is known for with new innovation and technology for performance play.
