I GO TO RIO
Brazilian designer Carlos Miele is known for pulling inspiration from his homeland to create sexy, flowing dresses in vibrant colors. Branching out this season, Miele created easy separates in denim and cotton. Khaki pants looked casual yet stylish topped with a sculptural shrug, while denim was cut into tiny short shorts and sexy bellbottoms. Prints were abstract, in blotchy neutrals or vertical scratched lines, with an ombré thrown in for good measure. Shorter dresses, some covered in beads and sequins, worked well, but Miele’s floor-length gowns are his forte. This season they were shown in off-the-shoulder and strapless styles, adorned with beaded braids.
