Carlos Campos

New York:  The earthen-hued F/W 12 collection by Carlos Campos had a vaguely Western  feel, both vintage and modern at once. Trim, tailored separates featured bold color-blocking, while shirts in a degradé floral print provided soft contrast to the graphic sharpness. Speckled wools for suiting, jackets and outerwear, had a subtle sheen — some even appeared to be waxed. An invitingly warm palette recalled a Southwestern landscape with a range of rusts and ochres cooled off by pale sky blue.   —Anna Jane Davis
