An extension to the brand’s successful fragrance and make-up products, Dolce & Gabbana’s skincare features two luxury lines: Essential and Aurealux. It is the brand’s first venture into the skincare market and the result of several years of research and development to create the products.

Both skincare lines, which were launched in Harrods last summer, focuses on helping women achieve “captivating skin” that is radiant, smooth and plumped. “Dolce & Gabbana Skincare is founded in one simple truth: beautiful skin, full of life, has the power to captivate others,” Domenico Dolce says. “True beauty emanates joy – it is natural, radiant and all, real.”

The brand worked with leading scientific experts at P&G Prestgige to develop the line, which contains an exclusive active ingredient called gold flavo-silk tricomplex. This naturally-developed active complex is said to deliver moisture to the skin to promote a smooth, radiant and plumped skin. Other key ingredients include Italian olive oil and vitamin B3.

The first line is an advanced treatment line called Aurealux. It features five products: a moisturizing cream with a gel-cream texture that can be used both day and night, a hydrating mask, a radiance-boosting serum, a brightening essence and a refreshing and soothing eye gel.

The second line comprises of seven products focusing on cleansing and prepping the skin. It includes a cleansing gel, cleansing milk, cleansing oil, cleansing water, eye make-up remover, exfoliator, toner and a UV cream.

Dolce & Gabbana Skincare is available now at Harrods and www.harrods.com. The Essential line is priced from £23 and the Aurealux products range from £44-£110.

As part of Harrod’s Happy New You event, which runs throughout this month, I was invited to experience a private consultation with facialist Therese Horgen and learn more about the products with skincare expert Dr Silva Incardona.

The 40 minutes facial began with a thorough cleansing of the skin using the cleansing milk, eye make-up remover and essence, which left my skin refreshed and clean. Following the cleansing ritual, the Aurealux Mask was applied onto my face and left on for 10 minutes, and while waiting Horgen gave a hand massage. Finally, a serum, cream and eye gel was applied to my skin leaving my skin radiant and hydrated.
