Agent Provocateur’s Autumn 2011 ad campaign that was just unveiled today is the latest example of art imitating life. The campaign features paparazzi-style shots of Boardwalk Empire actress Paz de la Huerta strategically exposing her knickers while doing what stars do: stepping out of limos, walking the red carpet and falling down while drunk. Hey, if you’re going to do some flashing, at least wear some nice lingerie, right?
The controversial actress is no stranger to indecent exposure, having been photographed “accidentally” baring a breast after she was exiled from a Golden Globes party for bad behavior. More recently, she made headlines for taking part in a good old-fashioned bar brawl. Good or bad publicity, the scandalous actress is the true definition of agent provocateur. In addition to the photo spread, the campaign also features a series of short films shot by Johan Renck, who is, perhaps, the cinematic equivalent to a Terry Richardson or Olivier Zahm.
As for the collection, itself, highlights include an exaggerated hourglass basque, a brief that is both high-waisted and hip-slung, a sweeping orchid-printed robe, a French maid-esque U-front demi and this peek-a-boo longline.
