New York: After a New York season full of mixed prints, bold colors and flashy surface treatments, Calvin Klein Collection was a breath of fresh, feminine air, with Francisco Costa taking the house’s signature minimalist aesthetic to a new, romantic level. A soft muted palette, peppered with some jet black for contrast, let the delicate tailoring do the talking, with ultra-subtle ruffles, hourglass-enhancing seams and glimpses of sheer panels worked into the fabric. All in all, the slip-dress emerged as the centerpiece, the 90s classic item that helped define the brand decades ago, but this season it had an easy, delicate twist that made the sparse Calvin Klein Collection approach more wearable than ever. —Shannon Davenport
