LEISURE SUITE New York: The fluid linear tailoring, and hip-slung belting on the runway at Calvin Klein Collection C/R 13 could only bring to mind the effortlessly chic, coordinate-suited, neutral-tone washed “Jet Set” travelers of 70s. These were the sort of looks that Bianca and Tina donned to dash from Heathrow to LAX, and the python prints, fluid-silk disco slips, and peep-toe platforms only amplified that story. In keeping with the house aesthetic, an overall simplification of silhouette, detail, and finish kept the looks modern in spirit even when intentionally retro in reference. The use of optic white as an unconventional pop showed that there is indeed news after color-blocking. —Kibwe Chase-Marshall
