New York: For F/W 11, Andrew Buckler took his inspiration of artists’ street style right down to the setting – he had an entire block in New York’s SoHo shut down, adding to the urban, gritty (yet refined) sensibility. The citified feel was reinforced by a palette consisting of concrete grey, pavement black and a pop of taxi yellow, and in the slim suits underpinned with draped knits, classic overcoats wrapped with skinny leather belts, hooded toggle sweaters and a zigzag motif resembling car tire tracks. Although this collection had a harder edge than the poetic inspirations of previous seasons, Buckler’s clothes continued to have a romantic mood about them – even on a runway made up of darkened slush and black ice.
