New York:  Each season, British-born Andrew Buckler turns out an approachable collection of masculine classics. With its intriguing mix of rocker-prep, his vision for S/S 11 had less to do with tailored clothing, even though his suits continue to be best-sellers at retail. Inspired by early 20th century Olympic games, Buckler has started a new tradition, presenting revamped basics like sleeveless trench coats, contrasting crew neck sweaters and stretched T-shirts. These are the clothes for the rebel athlete, straddling the line between collegiate and contemporary. A novel take on proportions comes from 1930s Bauhaus-influenced allover zigzag prints worn with dropped crotch knit pants and cropped jackets.
