Buckets of Fun for Everyone

The whimsically named Potato Head Beach Club is Bali’s biggest, newest beach club, a craftily decorated multi-purpose space complete with eye-catching walls made of beautifully faded vintage window shutters, for a rustically tropical feel.

The owner’s unique collection of Scandinavian and Indonesian furniture from the 1950s has been put to good use here, lending the bar and lounge areas a laid-back beachy vibe that’s perfect for drinking, eating, dancing or simply taking in the jaw-dropping natural beauty of Bali.

Surprisingly family-friendly by day, patrons and their children can frolic on the white sand beach, take a swim in the gorgeous infinity pool, browse the gift shop stocked with a well-edited selection of clothes and accessories for both men and women, or enjoy Italian and French-inspired snacks and entrées from one of Potato Head Beach Club’s three outstanding restaurants.  Twice a month there is also an organic farmers’ market, part of the owner’s efforts to infuse the club with a sense of community and local involvement.

By night, the kids disappear and the grown-ups trade their sandals for their dancing shoes, as top international DJs from around the world take the stage in the massive courtyard. In need of a late-night nosh after shaking your tail feathers? All three restaurants remain open into the night, serving up delicacies such as duck confit, bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin, lasagna, and creamy penne arabiata studded with morsels of tender chicken. Those unconcerned with their beach bods, take heed: Potato Head Beach Club’s signature dessert is a classic sundae, made with five scoops of ice cream and smothered in hot fudge, berries and whipped cream, with a cherry on top (of course). Like the Potato Head Beach Club itself, it’s beautifully presented and totally worth indulging in.
